About Charlie’s:
Elliot Bell is the chef and owner of Charlie’s, a family-run, community-focused restaurant named after his son. Originally from New Zealand, Bell’s culinary journey spans top dining destinations like France, Japan, Napa Valley, and New York. He began his career washing dishes in small-town Iowa, later studying hospitality management at the University of New Hampshire and the Glion Institute in Switzerland.
Bell spent the last decade as Executive Sous Chef at Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry and has worked in several notable restaurants, including Gramercy Tavern. A dedicated volunteer firefighter with the St. Helena Fire Department, Bell and his family have called St. Helena home for over ten years.
