2019 Fall Release

It’s been a busy 2019 harvest for MDC, as we’ve moved our production from Napa to Berkeley. We have some new wines on the horizon, and will be opening a tasting space in 2020. More on this soon.

Our Fall Release is centered around our 2018 white wines and our 2018 Sparkling Chenin Blanc. In our constant search for old vine, dry farmed vineyards, our friend Craig Haarmeyer introduced us to the Wilson Vineyard, located in the Sacramento River Delta. This organically farmed vineyard paired with the area’s potential for mineral, acid-driven wines inspired us to experiment and produce our very first sparkling wine.

In addition to our Sparking Chenin Blanc, currently aging in the cellar is our Sparkling Solera from the Michael Mara vineyard in Sonoma. Since our first harvest in 2012, we’ve held back a small amount of wine from each vintage we’ve produced. The blend currently sits in bottle, aging slowly, and we will taste and wait and see when it is ready to release. Stay tuned.

Our other 2018 wines in this release include our Herron Sauvignon Blanc, a new Chardonnay from the Rorick Heritage Vineyard in the Sierra Foothills, and our Kierkegaard Chenin Blanc from the Dry Creek Valley. We hope you enjoy.
